Using a panel (cheater’s cloth),we practice the actual techniques involved. Because the panel is neither expensive nor has it taken time to make; it is a perfect practice piece. There are many areas of a panel that lend themselves to intricate planning and that allows the student to learn and execute these quilting patterns. Machine Appliqué A 3-hour workshop designed to make appliqué fun. No longer will you call it the "A" word and there is no fusing involved! The preparation work is the same for machine and hand work so you can adapt this technique to any project. I design a special project for each workshop. Design Your Own: Appliqué A 3-hour or 6-hour workshop to design a 16" - 20" block. Basic techniques will be explored and each participant will design a block. We will then start the construction process using your favorite technique. Different appliqué techniques and other options on how to execute the design will be discussed. This block can then be the start of a new quilt or made into a pillow. Quick Piecing Techniques A 3-hour workshop that teaches four quick piecing techniques that will not only speed up the process but create greater accuracy in your piecing. Greater accuracy will lead to more success in your quilting and allow you to take on more challenging projects with confidence. Fearless Templates A 3-hour workshop designed to eliminate the need to paper piece intricate blocks. Templates can be very accurate and with the use of your rotary equipment also very easy.
