Freeform Quilting
A 3 or 6-hour workshop that teaches the student how to prepare their quilt for quilting (sandwiching and basting) no matter what the size of their quilt and also how they want to approach the quilting for that individual piece. Using a panel (cheater’s cloth),we practice the actual techniques involved. Because the panel is neither expensive nor has it taken time to make; it is a perfect practice piece. There are many areas of a panel that lend themselves to intricate planning and that allows the student to learn and execute these quilting patterns.
Machine

A 3-hour workshop designed to make appliqué fun. No longer will you call it the "A" word and there is no fusing involved! The preparation work is the same for machine and hand work so you can adapt this technique to any project. I design a special project for each workshop.

Let's Get StartedHave you ever wanted to start quilting or to improve your basic skills? Well, this is the workshop for you. We will start with rotary cutting and not stop til we have covered piecing, pressing, and borders. You will develop the confidence to take on those projects that you have been wanting to do! Bali Bags Using a great pattern from Aunties Two, we will be making a wonderful bag using a Jelly Roll, Bali Pop, or your 2 ½" strips and cotton clothesline. It is easy and fun. Here are two options. The bag on the left was made by my friend, Cyndi Souder of Moonlighting Quilts (http://www.moonlightingquilts.com) and the one on the right is mine.
This is an all-day workshop.Bali Boxes This is even easier than the bag and faster. A little Timtex , coordinating fabric, a Bali Pop, and cotton clothesline is all you need (of course you will need the pattern from Aunties Two as well). Think of all the special combinations that you will be able to assemble. This is an all-day workshop. |
